Static, 2013. Print Series.
As shown at London Nights, the Museum of London.
I made these pieces during a series of night walks. Wandering with no set destination in mind, only to stop with my tripod and observe elements of every day life for extended periods of time. I examined London's combination of over-lit landscapes and a bombardment of imagery. I saw that in our new standards of city life, we enter a state in which all the elements of overexposure become canceled out by each other. We have been pushed into what feels like a blur of illuminated incoherence and alienation. These images set about creating a vision that stood for a slower and more considered approach to city life.
